Planktastic officially launched with a kick-off meeting bringing together the CIIMAR and INESC TEC teams to review the work plan and align on project goals for 2025–2027.
Seasonal sampling begins at the Douro estuary in Porto and the Lima estuary in Viana do Castelo, collecting the first plankton tows and microplastics samples of the project.
Environmental managers, fisheries experts and NGOs gathered for Planktastic's first stakeholder workshop, exploring how the project can support real-world monitoring and policy decisions.
